Brady Monaghan was dominant on the hill, as the pitcher rang up 13 strikeouts in La Lumiere Varsity Lakers's 7-1 victory over SSHA Eagles on Thursday. Monaghan surrendered zero hits and one run over five innings while walking just two.
La Lumiere Varsity Lakers got on the board in the first inning after an error scored one run.
In the top of the third inning, the La Lumiere Lakers went back into the lead after
Josh Jaracz tripled to center field, Monaghan doubled to center field, and
Charlie Peck grounded out, each scoring one run.
Jaracz tossed two innings of zero-run ball for La Lumiere Varsity Lakers in relief. The reliever allowed zero hits, striking out three and walking none.
Monaghan and
Bobby Looney each collected two hits for La Lumiere. Peck, Jaracz, Lake, and Monaghan each drove in one run for La Lumiere Varsity Lakers. The Lakers ran wild on the base paths, piling up five stolen bases for the game, including 3 from Monaghan. The Lakers improve to 1-1 on the young season.
