The La Lumiere Lakers defeated Elkhart Christian Academy Varsity Eagles 13-3 on Thursday night at Ron Reed Field, a deciding Senior Night victory.
La Lumiere Varsity Lakers flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring six runs on six hits to take the lead, 6-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by
Brady Monaghan that drove in two. Junior
Josh Jaracz doubled in the fifth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the third inning.
The Lakers extended their early lead with three runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by
Bobby Looney and Jaracz.
Monaghan earned the win for La Lumiere Varsity Lakers. The pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking two. Senior
Matthew Speakman began the game for La Lumiere, allowing zero hits and two runs over one inning.Â
La Lumiere piled up 12 hits in the game. Looney, Monaghan, and Speakman each collected multiple hits for the Lakers, who also stole four bases in the game. The SSAC Tournament is next up for the team, where they will play Calumet Christian. Thank you, Seniors!
