Josh Jaracz was dominant on the bump, as the hurler rang up 10 strikeouts in La Lumiere's 14-2 victory over Westville on Tuesday night. Jaracz allowed two hits and two runs over six innings.
La Lumiere Varsity Lakers got on the board in the top of the first inning after
Sabastian Morris was struck by a pitch,
Simon Busch walked, and
Bobby Looney was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run. A single by Busch extended the La Lumiere Varsity Lakers lead to 4-0 in the top of the second inning.
The Lakers added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after
Christian Lake was struck by a pitch, Jaracz grounded into a fielder's choice, and
Brady Monaghan grounded out, each scoring one run.
La Lumiere Varsity Lakers scored five runs on two hits in the top of the sixth inning. Lake was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, an error scored two runs, and Monaghan doubled, scoring two runs.
Monaghan, Looney, and Busch each collected two hits for the La Lumiere Lakers. Lake, Monaghan, and Busch each drove in two runs for the Lakers. Jaracz and Monaghan each stole multiple bases for La Lumiere Varsity Lakers. La Lumiere Varsity Lakers ran wild on the base paths, accumulating four stolen bases for the game.
The Lakers will travel to Michigan City HSÂ for their next game on Saturday afternoon.
