Josh Jaracz struck out 13 batters as the right-handed pitcher led La Lumiere past the Marquette Catholic Blazers 5-1 on Wednesday. Jaracz allowed four hits and one run over seven innings while walking two.
The Lakers jumped into the lead in the top of the second inning after
Jack Barry walked,
Bobby Looney grounded out, and Jaracz walked, each scoring one run. La Lumiere added one run in the third after
Sabastian Morris doubled to center field.
Charlie Peck and Morris were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for the Lakers. Jaracz, Morris, Looney, and
Simon Busch each drove in one run for La Lumiere.
Bennett Contreras paced the Lakers with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing nine walks for the game. Morris stole four bases. The Lakers ran wild on the base paths, piling up nine stolen bases for the game. La Lumiere also turned one double play in the game.
