Brady Monaghan was dominant on the mound, as the starting pitcher rang up 10 strikeouts in La Lumiere's 10-4 victory over the Calumet Christian Patriots on Monday at Heritage Christian. Monaghan surrendered seven hits and four runs over six innings.
La Lumiere took the lead in the bottom of the first, when Brady Monaghan had a 3-run Home run to deep center field, giving the Lakers an early 3-1 lead.
The Lakers added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Bennett Contreras was struck by a pitch, and Jack Barry grounded out, each scoring one run.
La Lumiere amassed 12 hits in the game. Monaghan led La Lumiere with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-2 on the day. Bobby Looney led the team with three hits in three at-bats. Christian Lake collected two hits in five at bats. La Lumiere had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. Monaghan and Sabastian Morris led the team with two walks each. Josh Jaracz stole two bases. The Lakers will compete tomorrow night for the SSAC Championship against HAST. The game will be played at 4:30pm CT at Heritage Christian-Dyer HS. Let's Go Lakers!
