Brady Monaghan drove in four runs on three hits to lead the La Lumiere Lakers past South Bend Career Academy 25-6 on Monday. Monaghan hit a home run to left field in the 2nd scoring two, singled in the first scoring one, and tripled in the second scoring one.
The Lakers scored 11 runs on six hits in the bottom of the second inning.
Charlie Peck hit an inside the park home run, scoring two runs and Monaghan tripled, scoring one run.
Jack Barry drove in one run on a fielder's choice.Â
Christian Lake doubled, scoring one run as well as an error scoring another run.
Josh Jaracz tripled, scoring two runs, and Monaghan homered to left field, scoring two runs.
La Lumiere added one run in the third.
Sam Cleveland tripled to center field, making the score 16-0.
The Lakers scored nine runs on three hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Barry singled, scoring two runs. Cleveland drew a walk, scoring one run.
Simon Busch was hit by a pitch, driving in a run,
Nicolas Sola was also hit by a pitch, driving in a run,
Aldrin Lopez singled, scoring one run.
Charlie Peck drove in a run on a fielder's choice, and
Vincent Ganz doubled, scoring two runs.
Sam Cleveland earned the win on the mound. Cleveland allowed four hits and six runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out seven and walking one.
The Lakers piled up 13 hits in the game. Jaracz and Monaghan were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for La Lumiere. La Lumiere Varsity Lakers had a strong eye at the plate, tallying nine walks for the game. Peck and
Bennett Contreras led the team with two walks each.
Next up, the Lakers play at Westville on Tuesday night.
