Lakers Cap Off Western Maryland Classic With Win Over Lions

Adams picks up game MVP honors

McHenry, MD - On Friday night the La Lumiere boys' national basketball team returned to the hardwood clinching a victory against Legacy College Prep's Lions with a final score of 73-57. With the win, the Lakers have an overall record of 8-1, including a 3-1 standing in EYBL action.

Top performers Jerry Easter II and Darius Adams led the charge, with Easter contributing a game-high 26 points on an efficient 12-of-20 shooting from the field, and Adams delivering an outstanding 25-point performance that earned him game MVP honors. Ace Buckner chipped in with 13 points, adding depth to the Lakers' offensive arsenal.

Disciplined ball control, evident in just eight turnovers throughout the game, played a pivotal role in La Lumiere's success, allowing them to maintain their lead and control the game effectively. The Lakers showcased their shooting precision by scorching the nets, connecting on 51.7% of their field goals (30-58) and displayed proficiency from the free-throw line, making 9-of-14 attempts.

Looking forward, La Lumiere will enjoy a well-deserved day off and return to the court Sunday night to face Covington Catholic (KY) as part of the Griffin Elite Showcase. Tip is set for 7:30 PM EST at Griffin Elite Sports & Wellness in Erlanger, Kentucky.
