La Porte, IN - The La Lumiere Lakers boys National baseball team tipped off the 2023-24 season on Friday night as part of the La Lu Invitational. The Lakers squared off against Aim High International. La Lumiere came out firing on all cylinders defeating Aim High by the score of 93-55. La Lu sits at 1-0 on the season

La Lu Head Coach Pat Holmes received major contributions from his team. Six players registered double figures. Ace Buckner and Steve Solano led the way with 14 points. Teammate Darius Adams was hot from beyond the arc and finished the game with 13 points. Melvin Bell Jr. made quick work on the hardwood registering 13 points, including a monster jam that brought the crowd to its feet. Jalen Haralson and Jerry Easter II would round out the scoring by netting 12 and 11 points respectively.

The Lakers will return to the court on Saturday morning (11/4) to take on Don Bosco. Tipoff is set for noon at the historic Marsch Gymnasium.
