La Porte, IN - A special night at the historic Sullivan Field as the La Lumiere Lakers registered a 2-1 victory over St. Thomas More in girls soccer action. With the win, the Lakers improve to 2-5 overall on the season. They will hit the road for the final game of the season on October 5th to battle Victory Christian Academy
The Lakers wasted little time in the contest getting on the board first thanks to a goal from senior
Sarah Agnew. It just took Agnew 90 seconds to find the back of the net. With just under eight minutes to go in the first half, it was freshman
Lucy Horn scoring to make it 2-0 at the break. St. Thomas More would score a goal in the 62nd minute, but the Lakers would earn the victory and their last time on their home pitch for the 2023 season.
A tip of the cap to the entire girls soccer team for supporting the Mia Hamm Foundation. All week members of the La Lu girls soccer team wear selling Mia Hamm Foundation t-shirts. Proceeds raised will be donated to the Foundation. A special shoutout to
Avery Tegt for leading the charge on the fundraising for the worthy cause. Great job Lakers!
