Coach Balhoff is entering his 3rd season as head coach of the Girl's Soccer team. Prior to this appointment, he served as the assistant on the Boy's team for 11 seasons, helping lead the team to a ICSAA state championship. He has coached over 30 seasons of soccer at levels ranging from youth to high school. Prior to coming to La Lu he coached swimming and soccer in Virginia, coaching many All-Americans in the pool. Coach Balhoff earned his degree in Middle and Secondary Education at Butler University where he was a member of the Men's swim team and set many school records. He believes that the qualities that allowed him to be successful in the pool are the same that will help athletes going forward, namely focus, grit, determination, teamwork and the love of sport. Coach Balhoff lives on campus with his wife, Mindy, and 2 children, Anna ('27) and Matthew ('28).
