La Lumiere boys soccer secured back-to-back SSAC Tournament championships in thrilling fashion, defeating Heritage Christian on penalty kicks after a scoreless battle through regulation and extra time.
The Lakers showed composure under pressure during the shootout, with Fred Tran, Anton Wagner, Maxwell Hamilton all converting their chances. With the title hanging in the balance in the sixth round, Vincenzo Romeo buried his shot to set the stage for goalkeeper Ezra Spira.
Spira rose to the moment, making a phenomenal diving save to end the shootout and clinch the championship for La Lumiere. His stop sparked a wave of celebration as the Lakers stormed the field to celebrate their second straight SSAC Tournament crown.
